Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience and ARDMS or CCI Echocardiography certification.
Details
- Cardiovascular Non-Invasive unit in a hospital setting
- Adult patient population
- Performs two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels
- Assists with exercise and non-exercise stress testing
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with start times of 6:45am, 7:00am, 7:15am, or 7:30am
- Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- Participates in callback rotation
- May float to other facilities within the health system
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of applicable echocardiography experience
- Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
- ARDMS or CCI certification in Echocardiography required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- License required if applicable
- Proficient in patient positioning, breathing techniques, and transducer positioning for optimal cardiac visualization
- Skilled in recognizing abnormalities in cardiac structure and function and distinguishing imaging artifacts
- Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy
- Fluent in English (written, reading, comprehension, and speaking)
- Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
- Experience with software-driven testing machines and digital archive systems
- Proficiency in pediatric echocardiograms
Additional Information
- Performs segmental imaging approach across parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal notch windows
- Operates ultrasound equipment and selects appropriate transducers for optimal image quality
- Obtains and documents patient history and clinical data to support diagnostic accuracy
- Uses M-Mode, color flow doppler, pulsed and continuous-wave doppler, and contrast echocardiography techniques as needed
- Evaluates ventricular systolic and diastolic function and documents wall motion abnormalities
- Recognizes congenital heart malformations and acquired cardiac pathologies
- Correlates clinical history with exams and consults with cardiologists as needed
- Assists cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Assists with functional and pharmacological stress testing, including dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms
- Communicates results and collaborates with cardiologists in a timely manner
- Maintains monthly correlation studies and statistics
- Troubleshoots and reports equipment issues
- Participates in mobile echo/vascular services regionally
- Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, holter monitoring, and event monitoring
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
