Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care, ED, and transport experience for a night shift hospital assignment.
Details
- Community hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- Adult critical care and Emergency Department patient population
- Handles patient transports as part of daily responsibilities
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- 26-week contract length
Requirements
- RRT or CRT certification accepted
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- MD state license or compact license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
- Adult critical care, ED, and transport experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
- Proficient in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with medication delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services across adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Perform chest physiotherapy and manage patients on various oxygen therapy and ventilation devices
- Administer a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators and corticosteroids
- Black scrub color required
- Off-cycle orientation accepted, starting every Monday
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered given the travel experience requirement
- Limited RTO permitted, with no time off allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Previous employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
