Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care, ED, and transport experience for a night shift position requiring prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a community hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Works with adult critical care and Emergency Department patient populations
- Provides transport services
- Performs medication delivery via aerosol setup (mask and trach) and metered dose inhaler (MDI)
- Administers medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, and Xopenex
- Cares for patients with ARDS, COVID, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- Manages oxygen therapy including bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and trach collar
- Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, flow-by, and IMV
- Troubleshoots high pressure alarms and manages weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Performs chest physiotherapy and arterial blood gas draws with ABG interpretation
- Manages airway including intubation assist, extubation, and oral/nasal suctioning
- Performs tracheostomy care and management
- Uses hand held, heated, and T-piece nebulizers
Requirements
- RRT or CRT certification accepted
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- MD state license or compact license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
- Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Transport experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
Additional Information
- 18-week contract assignment
- Off-cycle orientation accepted, starting every Monday
- Black scrub color required
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract period
- Previous employees must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
