Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced IMCU/Step Down RN for a day-shift position requiring higher-acuity critical care skills and an active OR RN license.
Details
- >Acute care hospital Step Down/IMCU unit setting
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
- Patient ratios of 1:3 and 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating between units and to affiliate facilities within the health system may be required based on skill set
- Charting completed in Epic
Requirements
- Active RN license, OR license required (can submit with license pending unless otherwise specified)
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Experience with trach and ventilator patients required
- Experience managing critical care drips and titrated infusions required
- Experience with complex cardiac and respiratory patients required
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience titrating cardiac drips and insulin drips required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to intermediate/step-down level patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs
- Care for higher-acuity patients including those requiring trach and ventilator support
- Must be willing to float to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and staffing needs
- Facility is a short-term acute care teaching hospital
- Scrubs may be any color, except OR/Cath Lab where scrubs are provided
- No parking fees at this facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront; up to 6 days total or 3 consecutive days may be auto-approved
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- 50-mile radius rule applies for travel pay rate eligibility
