Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II NICU position requiring a WA or compact RN license and 2+ years of NICU experience.
Details
- 32 weeks gestation or greater
- Level II NICU admissions and Normal Newborn care
- Attends all deliveries, including high-risk vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Uses CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Epic EMR system used
- Floating required as needed across facilities
- Not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless already competent in that skill
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP
- Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with neonatal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Experience with placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
- Proficiency in neonatal dosage calculations and medication administration, including emergency medications
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
Additional Information
- Provide neonatal intensive care to infants 32 weeks gestation or greater
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate newborn care as needed
- Manage respiratory support equipment and monitor neonatal patients closely
- Previous permanent, travel, or per-diem employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify
- All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
