Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2+ years of PACU or ICU experience at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the PACU unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center
- High acuity patient population age 12 and older in a fast-paced environment
- Receives patients from varied areas post-procedure after sedation, both outpatient and inpatient, including unstable ICU patients
- Performs procedures such as TEE, cardioversion, epidural block placement, and lumbar injections
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Uses Epic charting system
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
- Weekend work required unless otherwise noted on posted schedule
- On-call responsibilities required
- Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN and CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or ICU experience required (CVICU or SICU background considered), with ICU experience required somewhere in work history
- Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Recent ICU experience within the last 2 years preferred
- Relias EKG certification required
- First-time travelers considered if strong PACU or ICU experience is demonstrated
Additional Information
- Provide post-anesthesia care to a diverse surgical population including cardiac, neuro, ortho, vascular, and general surgery cases
- Manage patients recovering from various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
- Perform pre/post-operative assessments, patient education, and discharge instruction as part of daily responsibilities
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
- RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week, and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former UW Medical Center staff must have an 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Scrubs of any color accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
