Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down unit position requiring 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Night shift schedule with rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Every other weekend work required
• Float required within scope of practice
• Meditech charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
• Two professional references required, including one Charge or higher and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
• Care for patients with neurological conditions including CVA, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care
• Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered, must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• Travelers returning after a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before becoming eligible to return
