Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down unit position requiring 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
- Night shift schedule with rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
- Every other weekend work required
- Float required within scope of practice
- Meditech charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
- Two professional references required, including one Charge or higher and one supervisor reference, both completed within the last year
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
- Care for patients with neurological conditions including CVA, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care
- Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered, must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
- Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be placed on the same shift or unit
- Travelers returning after a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before becoming eligible to return
