Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years PICU/level 4 NICU experience for a 13-week night shift assignment in a pediatric and neonatal respiratory care unit.

Details

• Acute care setting within a Peds/Neo Respiratory Therapy department
• Covers NICU and PICU patient populations
• Handles 20-25 treatments per day
• Uses EPIC for charting
• 12-hour night shifts, with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun)
• Preference scheduling permitted with weekend commitment
• No floating required
• No call or standby call requirement
• Unit staffed with multiple RTs per shift (not sole coverage)
• Hospitalist or Intensivist coverage in house

Requirements

• RRT preferred; CRT not specified as acceptable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PICU and/or Level 4 or greater NICU required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher Paykel HFNC
• Skilled in aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, airway management, and intrahospital transport
• Assist-only intubation support (independent intubation not required)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across NICU and PICU settings
• Responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, and intrahospital patient transport
• Work under direction of a Respiratory Manager and Supervisor
• Department-specific orientation provided, with timeframe based on prior experience
• Scrub color/dress code: Stone/Light Gray
• Holiday coverage possible as scheduled
• Candidates must live outside a 50-100 mile radius depending on specific WVU facility location
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Returning WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine system for longer than 1 year cumulative before requiring a 2-year break
