Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring PALS certification and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a teaching hospital setting
- 13-week contract assignment
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
- Experience with congenital heart disease/repair and post cardiac surgery care preferred
- One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31-March 31)
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery needs
- Care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway care
- Manage patients on ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced cardiovascular monitoring equipment
- Administer emergency medications and manage IV vasopressors and continuous sedation as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates must not have been a permanent employee of the health system within the past 6 months
- Maximum of 5-7 days requested time off (RTO) permitted with contract
