Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring PALS certification and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a teaching hospital setting
13-week contract assignment
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
Patient ratio of 1:2
Required to work every other weekend
Floating required
Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
Epic charting system experience preferred
Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Skills in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
Experience with congenital heart disease/repair and post cardiac surgery care preferred
One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31-March 31)

Additional Information

Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery needs
Care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway care
Manage patients on ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced cardiovascular monitoring equipment
Administer emergency medications and manage IV vasopressors and continuous sedation as needed
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
Candidates must not have been a permanent employee of the health system within the past 6 months
Maximum of 5-7 days requested time off (RTO) permitted with contract
