Description
American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 6-week night shift contract requiring 2+ years of ED experience, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Emergency Department setting
- 6-week contract assignment
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend requirement (every other weekend)
- On-call requirements apply
- Floating required as needed per facility policy
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Unit performs conscious sedation, participates in intubations, behavioral health watch, sepsis protocols, stroke care with tPA administration, and chest pain/heart alert response
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and either PALS or ENPC
- CEN certification preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide emergency department nursing care across a range of acute and critical conditions including stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health cases
- Participate in conscious sedation procedures and assist with intubations as needed
- Must comply with Methodist floating policy across the facility
- Scrub color required: navy (undershirts/jackets in white, navy, or black only)
- Grooming standards include no acrylic nails, natural hair color, and limited visible tattoos/piercings
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers may be considered
