Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
• Facility performs 200-300 births per month
• Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor
• Roles include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low risk antepartum, and low risk L&D
• Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, couplet care, and transition nursery care
• Special procedures include blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, drains, epidural/PCA/syringe pumps, and wound vac
• Medication administration includes heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Staffing ratio of 1:1-3
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at Swedish First Hill
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS certification preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, anticoagulation and antihypertensive therapy, insulin and magnesium sulfate drips
• Labor and delivery management skills including assisting with high risk delivery, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams
• Pain management skills including epidural anesthesia and IV PCA use
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include high-risk antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and postpartum care and procedures
• Isolation precautions and PPE use required
• Beautiful campus with strong staff camaraderie, including book clubs and group dinners
• Must be able to work 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, or New Year's/New Year's Eve)
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former Providence permanent staff must be separated at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible for a travel contract
• Staff from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3-month separation, and all Swedish facilities honor active compact licenses
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem staff
