Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and prior travel experience.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, low risk antepartum, low risk labor & delivery, and high risk deliveries
- Duties include circulating, OB-GYN care, pre-op, post-op, scrub duties, couplet care, and transition nursery care
- Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating required to Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set
- Floating between sister facilities within the region may be required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with high risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and epidural anesthesia management
- Experience administering blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapy
- Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and using PCA pumps
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, including high-risk cases
- Assist with GYN surgeries and attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- Perform triage of obstetrical patients and manage isolation precautions/PPE
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO is preferred to avoid delays
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel contract eligibility unless local
- Former permanent employees of Providence facilities (non-Swedish) may be eligible for a travel contract after a 3-month separation period
- Candidates cannot have worked at this specific facility as permanent staff within the last 3 months and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility if returning
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
