Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Trauma ICU of a Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital
- Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU patient population
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend rotation and holiday rotation required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA only
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required within the last 3 years
- Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall passing score
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
- Care for patients requiring respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation
- Manage patients on continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and emergency medications
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available including bus and park & ride
