Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR Body/Neuro experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center for a role at a comprehensive stroke center academic medical center.

Details

  • >Level 1 Trauma Center academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designation
  • with 8 dedicated Interventional Radiology procedure rooms handling 45-50 cases per day
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in stroke, cancer, tumors, and occlusions including peripheral, carotid, IVC, and SVC cases
  • Neuro cases include stroke, ruptures, and subdural fistulas supported by 3 neurosurgeons and 1 neuroradiologist
  • Body cases include traumas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, SIR-Spheres, biopsies, and drainage/access procedures supported by 7 providers and 4 APPs
  • EMR: EPIC Encompass
  • Equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems and GE ultrasound units
  • Rotating shift schedule with 8, 10, or 12-hour shift options totaling 40 hours per week
  • Weekend call rotation approximately every 5th-6th weekend, Friday 4:30 PM through Monday 8:00 AM
  • On-call requirement of 3-4 call days per month
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience specific to IR Body/IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • BLS certification required
  • ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
  • Active state license required, if applicable
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Skilled in scrubbing and assisting in procedures, circulating, operating equipment, and providing supplies
  • Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
  • 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Support staff includes 3 tech extenders (2 per day) assisting with room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory
  • Staffing ratio of 2 techs per room along with an RN
  • Department culture includes many new graduates, so comfort with precepting and mentoring is valued
  • Up to 2 weeks of facility and unit orientation provided
  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Free parking available
  • Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays
  • Clinical interview with the unit manager required as final step
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Returning employees must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
