Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound procedures, requiring BLS and one of several accepted cardiac sonography certifications.

Details

• Hospital-based Ultrasound department setting
• First shift, 12-hour day schedule
• 36 hours per week across 5 days
• 0.8 FTE position
• Performs sonography procedures and produces diagnostic images for review by Radiologists, Cardiologists, or other licensed independent practitioners
• Coordinates with tele-radiology services for after-hours image transmission
• Utilizes electronic health record (EHR) and PACS systems

Requirements

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program required
• Less than one year of experience required
• One to two years of Special Imaging in Ultrasound experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• One of the following certifications required: CCI RCS, CCI RCCS, ARDMS RDCS, or ARRT (S)
• ARDMS RDCS certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Strong written, verbal, and problem-solving communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
• Computer skills including data collection and analysis required

Additional Information

• Verifies orders, patient identity, and history prior to exams
• Documents patient care incidents and time-out procedures for invasive procedures in the EHR
• Participates in image Peer Review with department Lead
• Assists with equipment and software selection alongside US Coordinator and Radiology leadership
• Reports equipment malfunctions and environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel
• Coordinates equipment maintenance scheduling with vendors and department Lead
• Provides initial interpretation of exams per department protocol
• Orders and restocks supplies and linens as needed
• Collaborates with EHR team and Radiology leadership on system changes and needs
