Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Rapid Response position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital, located on the 2nd floor
• Unit includes 11 labor beds, 4 OB Eval beds, 2 OB PACU beds, and 2 operating rooms
• Patient ratios of 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient depending on acuity
• Uses GE fetal monitoring equipment
• EMR systems used include CPN and Meditech
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 6-week rapid response assignment with possible 6-week extension at the same rate if fully credentialed
• May be required to work weekends to fill staffing needs
• No scheduled on-call requirements
• Floating to Postpartum-Couplet Care unit may be required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Experience with Transition Nurse or Baby Catching duties preferred
• Skilled in performing NSTs, cervical exams, labor management, medication titration, and McRoberts maneuver
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery environment with high patient volume
• Team includes charge nurses, staff RNs, and OB Techs on both day and night shifts
• Best suited for candidates who thrive in a dynamic, high-acuity setting
• Must wear hospital-provided infant security scrubs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
