Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a day-shift assignment requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an Illinois RN license.

• Operating Room unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 5 days per week (40 hours)
• Weekend shifts required
• Holiday shifts required
• No specific floating requirements noted

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for a designated group of patients, applying the nursing process and unit-specific standards of care
• Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
• Performs patient identification, transport, positioning, and prepping using safety protocols and timeouts
• Supports the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, specimens, and medications
• Provides handoff report to receiving RN when transporting patients to PACU or other units
• Completes documentation, assessments, and care planning in accordance with unit standards
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
