Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience and an active Illinois RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• Responsibilities include OR suite preparation, patient positioning, patient transport, surgical team support, and PACU handoff
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications
• Performs patient identification using two identifiers (name and date of birth)
• Conducts timeouts upon entry, prior to incision, and prior to exiting the OR suite
• Positions and preps patients for procedures using appropriate positioning aides and guidelines
• Supports the surgical team during procedures, responding to requests for supplies, specimens, and medications
• Transports patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provides handoff to receiving RN
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning to this health system
