Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Setting: Short Term Acute Care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation
• Unit: PT Acute Care Hospital
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Schedule: Day shift, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
• Weekend rotation required alongside full-time therapy staff
• No floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with orthopedic conditions including post-op spinal, shoulder, and cervical surgeries, total hip/knee replacements, and hip fractures preferred
• Experience with neurologic conditions including stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive disorders preferred
• Skilled in gait training, body mechanics, home exercise programs, and patient/family education
• Experience with equipment including gait belts, sliding boards, hospital/specialty beds, bed alarms, and call lights preferred
• Outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility experience preferred

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, and discharge planning within an acute care setting
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Candidates should be flexible in scheduling, as inflexibility may affect contract continuation
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
