Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill patients including neuro ICU, surgical ICU, and cardiovascular/post cardiac surgery cases
- Patient ratio typically 1:2-3 in ICU
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
- 36 or 48 hours per week considered
- Float to Med-Surg/Telemetry required if ICU census is low, with ratios of 5-6:1 in that setting
- Cerner charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR
- 6 hours of stroke education required (facility can provide if needed)
- EKG course completion required (facility can provide if needed)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in critical care procedures including arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Experience with neurological critical care skills such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical management preferred
- Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as TAVR, sheath removal, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide high-acuity critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction and complex medical needs
- Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
