Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Block schedule approved
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and multisystem organ dysfunction care

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Onsite orientation includes non-billable modules (RN average 4-6 hours)
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be listed at time of submission
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience
