Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with prior travel experience for a night shift position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

• Work in a 10-bed ICU within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Block schedule approved
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred), and TNCC (preferred)
• Experience with 1:2/3 patient ratios
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and Swan-Ganz monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be accepted
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted for consideration upfront, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
