Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Perinatal center requiring 3 years of L&D experience and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital
- Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, with approximately 70% classified as complex high-risk
- Level 3 Perinatal center with an associated Level 4 NICU serving as a regional center
- Approximately 150 births per month
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and PP D&Cs
- Second L&D RN role available as baby catcher for well, non-compromised newborns
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- Weekend work required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the hospital, no floating to sister facilities
- Uses Epic for charting
- Any color scrubs permitted, with scrubs provided for OR personnel
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate, EFM, NCC, and FHM certifications preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance required
- Experience with medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Experience in postpartum care including couplet care and hemorrhage management
- Experience with Level 3 Perinatal or Level IV NICU settings preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and other surgical procedures on the unit
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Facility is a Magnet-designated academic teaching center
