Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes medical/surgical, telemetry, cardiovascular, and orthopedic cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic charting system
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management (central, peripheral, PICC)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Wound care and isolation precautions experience

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical and telemetry patients
• Not eligible for candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days automatically approved
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position requirements
