Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Surgical ICU specializing in liver care and transplant patients, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Surgical Intensive Care Unit specializing in liver care and transplant patients
- 13-week travel assignment
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Utilizes Epic charting system
- Float within scope of practice required as needed
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required in hand at time of application
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
- 3 years of experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from accredited programs (ACEN or CCNE) will be accepted
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- 2 professional references required
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, CRRT/CVVHD, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and cardiac dysrhythmia management
- Preferred skills include chemotherapy administration, continuous IV paralytics, CVA/stroke management, GI surgery care, dysrhythmia interpretation, and Swan-Ganz monitoring
Additional Information
- Provide post-operative recovery and surgical ICU care for complex liver and transplant patients
- Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
- Travelers and former permanent staff must have a break in service of at least one year before returning to work at the facility as a traveler
- Facility maintains a natural nail policy for clinical staff
- Facility is a smoke-free and tobacco-free campus
- Candidates will complete required orientation modules through the VCU Learning Exchange, which must be finished by the end of orientation week
- Background check review required prior to start
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application and are subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
