Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring OR RN licensure and specialty experience in C-section circulating and scrub roles.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every 3rd weekend rotation required
- Holiday coverage required between Labor Day and Thanksgiving
- Floating required within the site and across the health system as requested
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active or in-process Oregon State RN license required, with proof of application and fingerprinting if not yet active
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery specialty experience required
- 2 years of overall RN experience preferred
- C-section circulating and scrub experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP Advanced
- Fetal Monitoring certification required (AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, or Relias Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- Epic EMR experience required, including completion of an Epic Test-Out Module upon starting
- Prior Charge Nurse experience preferred
- One professional reference required from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager, preferably within the last year
- No felony convictions accepted
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Perform circulating and scrub duties for C-sections and assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
- Manage fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other obstetric-specific drugs
- Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
- Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
- Must complete any assigned education within one week of starting the assignment
- Refusal to float as requested will result in contract cancellation
- Low census mandatory cancellation requires notice 1.5 hours before shift start, with one shift per two-week pay period cancellable without cause
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from any Legacy facility to be considered for this travel position
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former Legacy staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not required for this position
