Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring 2 years of PICU experience and VA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Float Pool position within a teaching hospital, covering PICU, NICU, peds med/surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
- Pediatric critical care patient population including PICU, NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 36 or 48 hours per week scheduling, with every other weekend required
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
- Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
- Uses Epic EMR
- Must float within scope of practice per facility float policy
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required; pending license accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may submit with certification pending)
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- Comfortable working with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patients
- Prior travel experience required, though candidates with previous NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Peds PACU experience highly preferred
- BSN preferred
- Charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple pediatric units as part of a float pool team
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract; no additional RTO approved after the first 2 weeks of assignment
- Candidates with previous NICU or PICU float pool experience will be considered for this role
