Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a PA or Compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital environment
• Patient population is primarily a mix of MS Tele and PCU patients
• Patient ratios are a minimum of 5-6:1
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to a mix of MS Tele and PCU/stepdown patients
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and oxygen administration may be required
• Experience with cardiac drips, thrombolytic agents, and heparin protocols is relevant to this role
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
