Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Level I Trauma Surgical ICU position requiring PA line and trauma/surgical experience.
Details
- Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a hospital environment
- Trauma/Surgical unit focusing on traumatic injuries such as MVCs, penetrating wounds, and falls, as well as cancer surgery and liver transplant patients
- 14-week assignment on Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Expected to work 3 of 5 Winter holidays
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY State or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Pulmonary Artery (PA) line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and ventilator management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience in respiratory/thoracic and cardiovascular patient care
- At least 1 professional reference required for consideration
- No active license disciplinary hits accepted for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to trauma and surgical ICU patients, including those with traumatic injuries, cancer surgery, and liver transplant needs
- Local candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
- Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for 6 months before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; requests made after an offer will not be approved
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
