Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Transplant ICU position requiring Level I trauma experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital setting
- Provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)
- Level I trauma center experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a Board Approved Program preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observing and intervening as necessary
- Administers medications, IV infusions, and blood products as prescribed
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning and hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Compliance documentation, including background checks and drug screens, must begin immediately upon offer due to strict facility compliance deadlines
- Travelers must be able to start at least 4 weeks from the time of offer
- Extensions are limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks total, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
