Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) - Pediatrics for a nights pediatric respiratory care position requiring RRT certification and prior children's hospital experience preferred.

Details

• Pediatric Respiratory Care department serving all age levels within the department's scope
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 26-week contract with guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Previous experience in a children's only hospital preferred

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner - license required if applicable
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• RRT credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire
• BLS certification required upon hire (AHA)
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire (AHA)
• Minimum of one year of respiratory care experience required
• Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair
• Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac systems across all patient ages

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
• Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
• Act as a resource for medical staff on respiratory care matters
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
• Provide age-appropriate respiratory care to patients
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Maintain respiratory therapy records
• Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Facility has strict compliance deadlines and requires onboarding documentation to begin immediately upon booking
• Returning travelers may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month separation before applying for another contract
