Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric OR RN requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior Peds General OR experience at a teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Pediatric OR department of a children's hospital setting
- 10-hour day shifts with variable start times (6:45 AM or 8:45 AM), scheduled Monday through Friday with occasional weekends
- Shift assignments may vary week to week but attempts will be made to maintain a consistent rotation
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed, including reassignment within a 75+ mile radius
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Required experience in Pediatric General OR
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Trauma Level II and community hospital experience preferred
- Ambulatory OR, CVOR, General OR, Pediatric CVOR, and Trauma experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Two references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a pediatric surgical setting across a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, cardiovascular, urology, ENT, neurology, and craniofacial procedures
- Perform key OR responsibilities such as sterile field maintenance, specimen handling, infection control, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for a rehire eligibility check
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
- All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to the start of the contract, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
