Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of acute care OR experience and a DC RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- Responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures
- Day shift schedule of 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 0700-1730
- On-call responsibilities required for nights, weekends, and holidays
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license in the District of Columbia (DC) required, no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care Operating Room experience required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying experience within the last 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
Additional Information
- Perform scrubbing and circulating duties for a variety of operative procedures
- Adhere to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Consult and coordinate with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
- Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
- Prepare the operating room, assemble equipment and supplies, and ensure equipment functionality prior to procedures
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
