Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring PALS certification and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within an academic teaching hospital
- 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM)
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Epic charting system preferred
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Skills in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, congenital heart disease/repair, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias preferred
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and use of the Broselow system required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, post-cardiac surgery, and complex cardiovascular conditions
- Perform respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI interventions as part of comprehensive pediatric ICU care
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 31 - March 31) with no exemptions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must disclose this history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
- RTO of 5-7 days maximum must be submitted with candidacy
- Up to three absences allowed per 13-week contract, with attendance monitored throughout the assignment
