Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position requiring Trauma Level II experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a hospital setting
- Day/evening shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating required as needed
- Traveler must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the BICU specialty
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial/central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube assistance
- Experience managing complex wounds or burns
- Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration and continuous IV sedation
- Experience with CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury management preferred
- No references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to burn ICU patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and complex wound/burn management needs
- Work within a Magnet-designated, Level II trauma teaching hospital environment
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- Holiday coverage required for some holidays
