Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Burn ICU position requiring Trauma Level II experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Care for critically ill patients including complex wounds and burns
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend and some holiday coverage required
- Floating required as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only required); PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being applied to
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management
- Experience with chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience managing vasoactive and sedation drips, and IV insulin protocols
- Experience with CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury management preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to burn and multisystem organ dysfunction patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- All references should be excluded from consideration materials
- Telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment due to travel experience requirement
