Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and cardiac care background at a Level I Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit within the Heart & Vascular Center of an acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center setting with 1,567 staffed beds
• Average patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with heparin protocols
• Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Trauma Level I or large facility trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care to patients within the Heart & Vascular Center
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for cardiac emergencies
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital site
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
