Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring prior neuro ICU experience and TX or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Neuro ICU of a hospital environment
- Neurological patient population including CVA/acute stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Uses Epic charting system
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Floating required to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
- Prior Neuro ICU experience required
- Travel experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
- Skilled in care of ventilated patients and respiratory/thoracic care
- Skilled in EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex patients including stroke, TBI, and post-surgical neuro cases
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
- Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
