Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring 1 year of experience and comfort working with a forensic/prison patient population.
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Float required to other MS/Tele units, including forensics and inpatient units
- No on-call responsibilities due to strict no-call policy
- 16-week contract length
Requirements
- Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
- Must be comfortable working with a prison/forensic patient population
Additional Information
- Provide medical-surgical nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
- Skills in tracheostomy care, PCA management, and dysrhythmia interpretation are valued
- Holiday coverage required, with nurses assigned to work 3 of 6 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on holiday group assignment
- Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged to accommodate personal holiday preferences
- Locals and first-time travelers are welcome to apply at the same rate
