Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a MS/Tele unit position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on the 4th floor MS/Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope between the MS/Tele unit and a sister campus
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required - pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with wound care, wound vac, and surgical drain management
• Experience with total joint replacement patient care preferred
• Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
• Manage patients with a variety of conditions including CVA, renal failure, and post-surgical needs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be considered for the travel position
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at the facility must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 4 days, with approval of only 1 holiday during the assignment
• Night shift assignments may be extended up to two times before requiring a 6-month break before reapplying
• Pre-start completion of required training modules is expected
