Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• MS/Tele unit on the 4th floor of a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float required within scope between Betsy Johnson and Central Harnett campuses
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, pending license not accepted
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, tracheostomy, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Experience managing renal failure, CBI, and pre/post hemodialysis preferred
• No background or license hits within the last year

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a medical-surgical telemetry patient population
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the Main campus (Cape Fear Valley Medical Center) to qualify as a traveler
• Returning staff must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facility allows a maximum of 2 contract extensions on day shift or 3 on night shift before requiring a 6-month break to reapply
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days and subject to manager discretion
• Only 1 holiday may be approved for time off
• Scrub color requirement is royal blue and white
• Pre-start non-billable training modules (4-10 hours) are required prior to starting the assignment
