Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring high-risk L&D experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- Covers antepartum, labor and delivery, lactation, and postpartum patient needs
- Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Requires working every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
- 13-week assignment length
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Requirements
- Active IL RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required
Additional Information
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and standards of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy
- Provide patient and family education as part of the care plan
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments supporting the patient's longitudinal plan of care
- Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
