Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and 2 years of cardiac ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a teaching hospital
- Care for post cardiac surgery and cardiac intervention patients
- Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) on a 36-hour weekly commitment
- Weekday and weekend shifts required, up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
- 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pump, arterial line management, central line care, and cardiac drip titration
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention
- Manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support
- Previous travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
- RTO must be submitted with initial contract request and limited to 7 days or less
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
