Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 3 years of ER experience (or 2 years in a high-volume/trauma facility) and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke Certified
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:00
• Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule with 84 hours scheduled and a 72 hour guarantee
• EPIC charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, in-hand before start
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if candidate has high-volume/trauma facility experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and MAB
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skills in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience managing a wide range of emergency conditions including trauma, psychiatric emergencies, respiratory distress, and neurological emergencies

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Required lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer, or a completion plan must be in place
• Orientation includes approximately 2-3 hours of training modules completed during the first 16 hours of orientation
• Care responsibilities include managing trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, cardiac, and neurological emergencies in a fast-paced ER setting
