Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 30-bed unit specializing in telemetry and fast-turnaround surgical patients, requiring an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit
• Unit specializes in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
• Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
• Patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU
• Third shift schedule, 7p-7:30a, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• 6-week scheduling periods with 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

• Implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person in a caring, healing-focused environment
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops prioritized care plans, and implements treatments within RN scope of practice
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members, monitoring accuracy and completeness of delegated care
• Provides patient and family education tailored to culture, age, and level of comprehension
• Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
