Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 30-bed unit specializing in telemetry and fast-turnaround surgical patients, requiring an active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit
- Unit specializes in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
- Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
- Patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU
- Third shift schedule, 7p-7:30a, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- 6-week scheduling periods with 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
Additional Information
- Implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person in a caring, healing-focused environment
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops prioritized care plans, and implements treatments within RN scope of practice
- Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
- Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members, monitoring accuracy and completeness of delegated care
- Provides patient and family education tailored to culture, age, and level of comprehension
- Actively participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
