Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float pool night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- MS/Tele float pool position within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Float pool role requiring flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00PM-7:30AM (36 hours per week)
- Availability required for weekdays and some weekends, including holidays
- Uses EPIC EHR system
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a MS/Tele setting
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
- Proficient in IV start and telemetry monitoring
- EPIC EHR experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Travel experience required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team utilization
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with attention to detail
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a MS/Tele setting
- Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Work in a teaching hospital environment with Trauma Level I/II preferred experience
- Holiday coverage required as part of scheduling availability
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
- RTO required at time of consideration and must be built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
