Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float pool night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele float pool position within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Float pool role requiring flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00PM-7:30AM (36 hours per week)
• Availability required for weekdays and some weekends, including holidays
• Uses EPIC EHR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a MS/Tele setting
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Proficient in IV start and telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EHR experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills with attention to detail
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

• Work in a teaching hospital environment with Trauma Level I/II preferred experience
• Holiday coverage required as part of scheduling availability
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO required at time of consideration and must be built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
