Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring PA or compact RN licensure and prior Level 1 Trauma experience.
Details
- Work in a 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence
- Department includes a 3-bed trauma bay and a secure behavioral health unit
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required as needed, including rotation to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU)
- ETCU is a 22-bed telemetry-capable unit with negative pressure rooms serving as a staging area for ED patients awaiting testing, consultation, or inpatient beds
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Epic charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Level 2 Trauma Center experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic patient populations
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and interpreting 12-lead EKGs
- Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma, medical, and behavioral health cases
- May be cross-trained to assist with tasks in the ETCU as needed
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Blocked schedules are not approved
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a lower rate
