Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring prior travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• >week assignment on a Medical Surgical unit
• Patient population is primarily adult with occasional pediatric patients
• Day shift schedule alternating between 3x12-hour and 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) on a 36/48-hour rotating pattern
• Permanent staff available for support with pediatric patients as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in-hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 2 years of prior travel nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required for consideration
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing Heparin and Insulin, and administering cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
• Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Med/Surg and MS/Tele work setting experience preferred
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred, including use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical surgical unit, including occasional pediatric cases
• Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, upon arrival
• A positive drug screen results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions
• Candidates should avoid substances that could cause a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to and after arrival
• Required lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer, or a completion plan must be in place
