Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a 12-week hospital contract requiring MN RN licensure, 1 year of specialty experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology department of a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital
  • Provide care for Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, and US procedures, including Phase 2 pre/post recovery
  • Care for both inpatient and outpatient patient populations
  • Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio, with 1:1:1 during procedures and 2-3:1 in pre/post recovery
  • Perform procedures such as biopsies, tube/line/drain placement, lytics, thrombectomies, and vascular, neuro, body, and liver embolizations
  • Utilize Air Pal lift systems in IR rooms, ceiling lifts in CT rooms, and NK monitors with EtCO2 monitoring
  • Work 10-hour day shifts, either 0700-1730 or 0800-1830, 4 days per week
  • Occasional weekend and on-call requirements based on availability
  • No floating required outside of scope, though float to hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals may occur if needed

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology or related specialty experience required
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, procedural sedation monitoring, and IV therapy
  • Experience with PICC line and implanted port care and maintenance
  • Preferred skills in chest tube placement, lung biopsy, thoracentesis, gastrostomy tube placement, liver ablation/biopsy, and TIPS procedures
  • Must provide date of birth, SSN, certification copies, Nursys verification, and RTO details for consideration
  • At least one supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide moderate sedation and anxiolysis support for CT, US, and IR cases, including MRI monitoring of pacemaker patients and medication administration for nuclear medicine patients
  • Assist with anesthesia care for select patients
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Complete required pre-start modules prior to beginning the assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted for this radiology position without the standard 100-mile radius restriction
  • Previous Allina perm staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible
  • RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days
  • Assignment is 12 weeks in length with day shift scheduling
