Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric care in a non-trauma ED setting
• 26-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Meditech charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of ED nursing experience required
• Experience as a traveling ED nurse strongly preferred
• Skilled in EKG reading and monitoring, blood product administration, IV therapy, CVA care, PPE protocols, and triage
• Meditech charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to critically ill and injured patients in a 24/7 department equipped with private treatment rooms and advanced monitoring equipment
• Work alongside specially-trained emergency physicians and nurses
• Candidates who previously worked in a permanent role at this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• RTO policy is tied to holidays falling within the assignment: one holiday requires working it, two holidays requires working one, and three holidays requires working two
• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday
• Zero-tolerance drug policy is enforced, including no acceptance of medical marijuana cards
• Fit testing is required, and candidates must be clean-shaven for this test unless an approved medical exemption is obtained prior to starting
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on level of ED experience
