Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/IMC position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience, prior travel assignment experience, and an MD or compact RN license.
Details
- role in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC) setting
- 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Required to work every other 3rd weekend
- Cares for patients requiring cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia monitoring
- Utilizes respiratory support equipment including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias for telemetry patients
- Perform wound care including wound vac management
- Maintain isolation precautions and appropriate PPE usage
- RTO is capped at 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required for consideration
